KELOWNA - MASSIVE GRASSROOTS EVENT TO BE HELD IN KERRY PARK
The first event in Kelowna to provide a megaphone to any and all political and pseudo-political organizations, The Second Annual Freedom Fest: The Festivus of Freedomness will take place this Saturday, September 5th, from 12-9pm in Kerry Park, and will play host to a truly diverse array of speakers, information booths, and BC musical talents - free of charge!
Freedom Fest is the embodiment of a rapidly growing movement of Canadians who are dissatisfied, disillusioned, distrustful, or even downright angry with current national and international political trends -yet determined to make change. As costly and destructive wars of questionable motivation are carried out in our name, as environmental degradation and toxicity in the air, land and water escalates, as government accountability diminishes and as the rights many take for granted continue to evaporate, as people everywhere become increasingly befuddled by ever expanding bureaucracy and insidious systemic corruption, a movement of inquisitive and conscientious people flourishes across the nation.
Participants in Freedom Fest combine diverse talents, knowledge, and compassion to create an event of unique gravity and entertainment. All over BC, independent citizens are pounding the streets, getting the word out about Freedom Fest and amplifying the magnitude of this coming event.
Creators Ryan Foster and Dan Merchant had the idea to build Freedom Fest when they were puzzling over possible solutions to many of the major problems confronting human beings today. They realized that for any truly grassroots movement to succeed it needed a platform through which a multitude of otherwise divided organizations and advocacy groups could come together and achieve effective solidarity. They coined the term Freedomness, a humor tinged high ideal connoting tolerance and freedom of spirit. They knew that by injecting this spirit into an event open to all and making it a veritable playground for freedom loving artists, artisans, intellectuals, tradesmen, orators, activists, and entrepreneurs of all stripes, they could create an enduring phenomenon which would appeal to just about anyone. Thus Freedom Fest was born in the heart of the Okanagan, destined, say the creators, to spread throughout the country.
Speakers will include everyone from Rob Menard of The World Freeman Society, to Caron Abramson of The Council of Canadians, to Angela Reed of The Green Party, to Authenticity Consultant and Self Empowerment speaker Elle Monaco, and many more.
Live Music will be of all types and will include Conspirituality, Skull Hammer, Kusuwa, Dylan Matheson, At Times of Madness, Samba Tribe, and more!
Information booths will be everywhere on topics ranging from - Natural Health Freedom by Natures Fare Natural Foods, The Tradesman Exchange by Steve Merrill, Radio Free Canada by Darin Howard, Precious Metals, Free Birthing, The World Freeman Society, The Kelowna Peace Group, and many more - a veritable info bazaar.

PENTICTON - ECO FRIENDLY HOUSEKEEPING SERVICE CLEANS WITHOUT CHEMICALS
The first of its kind in Penticton, La Maison Verte Eco Friendly Housekeeping has just opened the door to a new world of professional and thorough residential cleaning services – without the use of chemicals!
La Maison Verte has arrived and the timing couldn’t be better! As environmental awareness and concern continues to grow, so does the need to create healthier lives for ourselves, our children and our pets. The trained staff of La Maison Verte use only products by Norwex, which are proven to be 99.97% effective at cleaning all types of dirt, grime, mildew and bacteria without chemicals. Several independent hospital and laboratory studies have proven that Norwex cleaning products out-perform a bleach and water solution, the commonly recognized standard for cleanliness.
Not only are these methods proven to reduce allergies by creating a cleaner indoor climate for your family, they will also save you money by reducing your use of chemical cleaning supplies by up to 90%.
Owners Jillian Dupont and Margita Heggie had the idea to start the business when they were trying to find a house cleaner for their own houses, and knew they would not be satisfied with a cleaning company that used regular methods or toxic products. La Maison Verte was born.
There will be an open house reception to introduce the business on January 10th 2009, from 6-9pm in the Purple Lotus Yoga Studio located at #102-186 Nanaimo Avenue East. Demonstrations and facility tours will be given, and guests will be treated to delicious treats, beverages, gift giveaways and prize draws. One lucky guest will win a ‘Luxury Perfection Package’, “a 1.5 hour Thai Massage while La Maison Verte cleans your house.”
“We knew there was a need for this kind of service,” comments business manager Elyse Allen, “but we had no idea it would take off as quickly as it has.” Since starting up in late November 2008, La Maison Verte now employs three full-time cleaners and is already on the lookout for new talent. They say good news travels fast, and news about the meticulous work done by the staff of La Maison Verte is no exception.
To have your house cleaned without chemicals, call 250-488-8949.
